Welcome to our weekly bug bite forecast for the week of June 29, 2026! This week, Wyoming is truly coming alive, and unfortunately, so are the bugs, leading us to issue a High risk advisory across the entire state. With consistently warm temperatures settling in and lingering moisture from recent weather patterns, expect to encounter plenty of biting insects during all your fantastic outdoor adventures.

Up in Northwest Wyoming, including the stunning Yellowstone and Grand Teton areas, warm days are quickly melting the last of the high-country snow, creating perfect breeding grounds for a surge in mosquito activity, especially around damp areas and slow-moving streams. You’ll also want to keep an eye out for black flies near rivers and creeks.

Over in Northeast Wyoming, around Devils Tower and the Black Hills, the weather is expected to be a bit drier, but recent scattered showers mean mosquitoes are still very present, particularly at dawn and dusk. Ticks are also quite active in grassy and wooded areas, so remember to do those thorough checks after spending time outdoors.

Moving to Southwest Wyoming, along the Green River and near Flaming Gorge, expect warm, sunny days, though the breezes can sometimes offer a little relief from the heat. The proximity to these significant water bodies means mosquitoes will be abundant, and biting midges might also make an appearance, especially as evenings begin to cool.

Finally, down in Southeast Wyoming, including Cheyenne and the Laramie area, we’re looking at warm conditions with a continued chance of pop-up thunderstorms, which will keep mosquito populations thriving in any standing water. As you venture out to enjoy all that Wyoming has to offer, remember, if you do get bit, Just Bite Me natural bug bite relief is available at retailers across Wyoming to help soothe those pesky itches.
